Join faculty member Lisa Connors and gain insight from students Teris Espinosa, Twyla Turner, and Valerie Lewis about their experiences in the grief coaching program at ILCT. Learn how grief coaching can assist you in moving clients forward from any loss to a more fulfilled and meaningful life.

Learning Objectives: At the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the role of a grief coach.
  2. Discuss the importance of grief coaching through loss.
  3. Define the elements of a grief coaching session and when to refer for counseling and therapy.
  4. Demonstrate ways coaches can address grief and loss in their sessions.

About the presenters:

Dr. Lisa Connors is the Associate Pastor of In His Image International Ministry, Inc, CEO of 4Ks Coaching and Training Solutions, LLC, and Grief Coaching Instructor at the Institute of Life Coach. She is a Licensed Bachelor Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Board-Certified Coach. Ms. Connors is a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist. She is also Certified in Thanatology [the study of death, dying, and bereavement]. See more about Lisa's Grief course.

Teris Espinosa is a Grief and Transition Coach who works with clients to help them move through transitions and the process of grief to a more fulfilled and meaningful life.

Twyla Turner, B.A., MDiv., is an ordained Minister who has recently retired from full-time employment. After 30 years of working in local government, Ms. Turner moved on to serve on staff at The United Baptist Church. She has also been a member of the Fairfax County Community Chaplain Corps since its inception.

Valerie A. Lewis is a Grief Coach and Personal Growth Facilitator who primarily supports and empowers people who are lost and confused with the direction they want to take following a significant life event that has impacted them and their sense of self.
