blockTextBody
Building on the learning from ILCT’s Foundations experience, this course focuses on four components that will allow you to take your coaching skills to the next level.
-
Core Competencies
Review and exploration of one core competency each week to deepen understanding and the use of the competency in coaching, with students coaching each other and providing feedback weekly.
-
Peer coaching
Students will meet in their peer group for 1 1/2 hour per week to practice coaching.
-
Observed mentor coaching
The instructor will conduct mentoring with each student after they have coached in class and will give written and/or oral feedback highlighting areas of strength and offering recommendations to expand the coach’s growing edges. A maximum of 2.5 hours of mentoring available - 2 individual and .5 group.
-
Oral Assessment
At the end of the course, students will participate in a Coaching Assessment that consists of a 30-minute coaching session, where one instructor, serving as the client, will bring a real coaching issue for you to coach, while a second instructor will observe and score the coaching session. Students should be coaching at an ACC level to pass this course.
The 20-hour ICF Core Competency Course consists of ten 2-hour sessions as well as a 1 hour introduction.
