Ellen’s journey with ILCT began back in 2005. After completing a Ph.D. in Psychology, she realized that she no longer wanted to focus on what’s wrong with individuals, but wanted a strength-based approach to help individuals not only survive but thrive in their lives. Learning about ILCT’s renowned life coach training program was one of those lightbulb moments, and she enrolled in ILCT’s Foundations course immediately, later becoming credentialed as a Certified Coach and a Board Certified Coach.
She was appointed to serve as a member of the Global Convention of Coaching’s committee on Research in Coaching, serves on various ACTO Committees, including Membership and Scholarship, and has a Professional Certification from Florida State University in the Fundamentals of Neurodiversity.
In 2008, Pat Williams hired Ellen to be ILCT’s Admissions Coordinator and she has been working with ILCT students in various capacities ever since. “It’s a real honor and pleasure to work directly with each student, to be part of their journey to become coaches who go out and make this world a better place.”
Ellen splits her time between Clearwater, FL and Long Beach Island, NJ with her labradoodle Libby, and loves traveling to each coast to see her two grown sons, their wonderful wives and her new granddaughter.
“I'm a recent graduate of ILCT. Ellen Ritter ... has truly been a great friend and helper to me. Life coaching is my second career which I have chosen at a mature point in my life. Ellen has always been there for me as a cheerleader telling me I could do it--and this when I really wasn't sure I could. While at ILCT, Ellen was - and still is, as I have later gone about being a coach- a great aide and advisor still giving me ideas about coaching techniques. With all the candor and honesty I can muster, Ellen is truly thoughtful, warm and caring. She is ILCT's Dean of Students, but still finds time to rescue individual students from floundering - as I should know.”
