Testimonials

This course was particularly valuable as it provided samples of Ethics of different governing bodies for coaching which I would not ordinarily be reviewing and contrasting for use in my own coaching practice. It gave great exposure to many of the same principles from different perspectives (i.e. ICF, BCC and IAC). It also encouraged me to keep available for continuous review during coaching engagements.

The most impactful part of this course was the case studies and the realization of the harm coaches can cause by not being aware of or disregarding mental disorders. The consultation, coaching agreement, and intake will help me check for the appropriateness of coaching. . . The Code of Ethics and the Core Competencies guide our service to clients wanting to transform and reach their goals.

This course influenced and reminded me to be very attentive to client expectations for the coaching process both before we begin officially working together (i.e. during initial intake and contract review) and throughout our coaching relationship, providing clarification as needed of client and coach responsibilities, confidentiality rules, and reiterating differences between coaching and psychotherapy whenever needed.
