Employee
assistance professionals use coaching skills & strategies
to create more effective employee performance, generate
increased client / employee satisfaction and retention,
and build "continuous learning organizations."
"An
August 2003 survey conducted by ERC Dataplus and Human
Resource Executive magazine found that the most common
benefit offered to assist employees with work/life balance
is an Employee Assistance Program." ERC

Coach
Training for Employee Assistance (EAP) & Workplace
Professionals
In the spring of 2003, ILCT researched
introducing coaching into the field of Employee Assistance.
Through focus groups we determined how expanding coaching
services into the traditional roles of employee assistance
can contribute to the development of organizational
excellence. From that research the EA Coach Training
Program began. It utilizes the first 20 hours of our
regular Foundational Course, which is the also the
first part of our International Coach Federation (ICF)
Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP). Should EA
professionals desire to become certified, the second
20 hours is our Coaching From the Inside Out (CFIO)
course. All of the ILCT courses are aligned with the
quality standards of the ICF.
At the completion of the first 20-hour program, you'll
be awarded a certificate of completion for the Employee
Assistance Coaching Specialist (EA-CS™) program
from a highly regarded coach training organization that
is proud to be aligned with the requirements of the International
Coach Federation. We're also pleased that the Employee
Assistance Professional Association (EAPA) has pre-approved
ILCT's EACS™ training program for 20 PDH hours
and the Human Resources Certification
Institute (HRCI)
has pre-approved the EACS™ course for 20 PHR,
SPHR and GPHR recertification credit hours. The CFIO
class is also preapproved for 20 PDH hours from EAPA.
The EA-CS™ certificate program is designed
for EA professionals committed to leveraging
their skills and fully utilizing their talents
to inspire the optimal potential of employees
and organizations. Classes are content rich
and based on sound theoretical principles;
group collaboration of colleagues enhances
the depth of your learning. Our high caliber
instruction, 200-page manual and 2 texts
make this a quality graduate level training
experience. The EACS™ program has been
preapproved by EAPA for 20 PDH crediits and
preapproved by HRCI for 20 PHR, SPHR and
GPHR recertification credit hours (category:
Strategic). Classes meet by teleconference
one hour twice weekly for ten weeks.
The course is also available as a two and one-half day customized
in-person workshop. Please contact Candia Dye at 828-349-1524
for more information.

Coach: Lessons from the Institute for Life Coach Training, Norton

Course Overview: To be a life coach means
to help clients create satisfying and fulfilling
lives. Participants in ILCT's
Coaching From The Inside Out Program™ are required
to have completed ILCT's Employee
Assistance & Workplace
Coaching Specialist Program™ (EACS). In
the 20-hour foundational EACS program, participants
have learned the required skills and strategies
to help clients/employees discover what authentic
and happy lives are, set and achieve goals,
remove obstacles, and create visions and plans.
The twenty classes in "Coaching From the
Inside Out" form a unique set of tools
and methods that enable coaches to coach their
clients or employees to design their lives for
both professional and personal fulfillment.
This includes, of course, the client's ability
to design their ways of being and working successfully
and in accordance with what is most important
to them. The tools & skills are presented
in a sequence that coaches may choose to use
with their clients. They may also be used in
other sequences, to match the specific goals
and needs of clients. Some of the classes present
skills and techniques that are also applicable
and beneficial when working with small groups
and work teams.
