The Professional Christian Coaching Program
(PCCP) is designed to facilitate/assist Christians
with a people-helping background to move from
a professional, pastoral or lay counseling practice
into coaching in the shortest amount of time possible.
The PCCP is being offered in response to requests
we have received from several people desiring
a model of coaching training that integrates principles
of Judeo-Christian theology, ministry of the Holy
Spirit, and is solidly grounded in Scripture.
The PCCP includes all material covered in the
regular Life
Coach Training Program and is fully
in alignment with ILCT’s ACTP.
Christopher
McCluskey is Director of the PCCP
and provides instruction and oversight of the
program. Christopher, along with Judy
Santos,
founder of the Christian Coaches Network, have
trained more than 800 students in the Christian
classes at ILCT since 2000. All classes are taught
by members of the Christian Coaches Network. Instructors
are ICF credentialed (or completing requirements
for credentials). The classes are designed for
human development professionals, church leaders
and others in positions of ministry for whom Christian
beliefs are a major part of their approach.
The Foundational
Christian Coaching Course (see
schedule below) includes all material covered
in the regular foundational class, including
the 400-page student manual. The required texts
may be purchased via our bookstore or the links
below. The class is taught by members of the
Christian Coaching Network and is designed for
those counselors or therapists who identify
themselves as Christian counselors or for whom
Christian beliefs are a major part of their
approach.
Our Foundational course was designed specifically
for human developmental professionals and others
with backgrounds in the people business. This
is cornerstone of our comprehensive ICF
Accredited Coach Training Program. The original
ILCT foundational class was rooted in transitioning
therapists and counselors into coaching. It
has blossomed into a class that serves all human
development professionals, such as educators,
therapists, social workers, counselors, attorneys,
consultants, librarians, etc. This forty-hour
course (see schedule below) provides essential
knowledge and skills to launch a coaching career
through twice-weekly classes and once-a-week
Buddy Coaching practice. To gain the most out
of this learning experience, students will be
asked to prepare for and participate in two
teleclasses per week (1 hour each), complete
post-class assignments (called fieldwork) and
participate in 1 weekly Buddy Group "practice" sessions
(also 1 hour) The total estimated time commitment
per week is 4 to 5 hours.
This forty-hour class is divided into three
modules, with a required Buddy Coaching
component that complements the ongoing instruction.
The ICF Core Compentencies Competencies provide
the basis for the knowledge and skills presented.
Since this is an ICF-accredited course, students
must attend at least 35 of the 40 teleclasses
and complete a written exam of 70% or better
in order to successfully pass this course. Other
course completion requirements apply - please
click here for a complete list of policies
and procedures.
Students will need to have regular access to
the internet and ILCT website

must have accumulated 50 hours of client coaching with no more
than 25% pro bono (click

to the Director
of Operations. Tuition: $995.00 Sessions: 12; 90 minutes each, Credits: 20 hours Maximum Students: 6 per class Instructors:Gary
Wood, PCC - Gary@lifecoachtraining.com &
Judy
Santos, MCC - Judy@lifecoachtraining.com
There are 3 components: a Practicum Class related
to 11 core coaching competencies, observed
coaching by instructors with written and verbal
feedback, and successful completion of a role
play oral assessment with two instructors
demonstrating coaching
competencies.
A. The Foundational Competency
Practicum will
consist of twelve, 90 minute classes.
During each class, a competency will be reviewed and discussed. Using cases
one student
will play the client and another student will coach for a minimum of 15 minutes.
Feedback
from instructors will consist of what the coach did well and areas for improvement.
The
feedback will be verbal and will be followed by a brief email to the student
who was the
coach. The email received will serve as documentation for observed coaching
sessions.
Usually each class will have two rounds of coaching.
B. Peer Coaching.Students
will participate with 1 or 2 students in peer coaching, self-observation and
observation of others for a minimum of six sessions spanning the
12 weeks of the practicum. Students will document their work after each of
the six
sessions, using a competency checklist and self-assessment form, which will
be reviewed
by one of the instructors. Self-assessment documentation must be turned in
promptly
after each session, so that instructors can provide useful feedback before
the next
practice session. (all students benefit from coaching, being coached and listening
to
coaching practice)
C. Competency Assessment Evaluation. After
completion of the practicum
class sessions and peer coaching practice, students will sign up with instructors
for
the coaching assessment.
The Assessment will
consist of a 30 minute coaching session, where
one of the instructors will bring a real coaching
issue and serve as client. The second instructor
will observe this coaching session. When the
coaching session is
complete, instructors will jointly review the
competencies demonstrated by the student, agree
on scoring and written feedback to be provided
to the student. Written feedback will be provided
to the student within 24 hours and this documentation
serves as the third observed
coaching session.
In addition, if desired, one of the instructors
will schedule a call with the student to review
the role-play performance.
